    Breastfeeding question

When your feeding your baby do you use both sides at a feeding or only one side then use the other side next time?

Also do you give them a time limit? I do Rhyann 10 minutes on each side. If I dont give her a time limit she will sit there and suck forever and I feel like Im a paci. Sometimes she still seems hungry afterwards and sometimes she doesnt. I just dont want her to use me as a paci!

I did 15 minutes on one side... the switched. If i felt the pull slack off I would pull them off. They had to be SUCKING and not just playing around. I had to do both sides cause I had too much milk and would leak like crazy.

I did one side each feeding, unless it seemed like she wanted more and wasn't getting any.

she gets 10 mins max one side, and if she seems hungry, i offer the other. she's a very effective eater, when she has a bottle, she polishes it off quite fast... if i left her go longer than 10 mins, she'll just use me as a pacifier

I did one side alot of the time (then switched the next time) - the times where she seemed extra hungry, i did both sides then started off on the side she stopped on. strange, I know. I never gave her a time limit. She usually just fell asleep.. if she seemed like she was sucking just for the fun of it, I put in her paci.

I use one side each feeding, if shes still hungry I use the other too. Alot of times she just starts playing around so I offer her the paci and she usually takes it unless she is really still hungry then she spits it out and cries.

I always did 10-15 mins on the first side, then as long as they wanted on the second, so long as they were actually eating. With my dd I had a huge supply and needed her to nurse of both sides for my comfort, with my ds I had supply issues and needed him to nurse off both sides to help keep my supply up.

Do breastfed babies like to suck more than bottle fed babies? It seems like Rhyann is not happy unless she has my boob in her mouth or a paci!
