lovemyjarhead (brittany)
i'm thanking brittany (lovemyjarhead) for being such an inspiration.
this lady is THE definition of strength, focusing on the positive, and grace under pressure. her DB has been deployed with the 22nd MEU, and a few weeks ago he mentioned he was having some arm pain. well, it got worse... a few corpsmen and a kuwaiti hospital later, she found out he had a blood clot in his arm that was causing some major damage. he's been hospitalized in kuwait, med-EVAC'ed all over the place, and is finally on his way home to NC where he'll be hospitalized for a while until he's ALL better. brittany has not had a major freak out or meltdown yet. she stayed SO STRONG for him on the phone and vidchat, constantly cheering him up, and not letting on to her own fears and worries. she rolled with the punches of missed flights, scant information and communication, changing dates and diagnosis, and all of the other highs and lows that have come with this. and still, even though she is SO THRILLED to get to see her love, she is so truly supportive of him, that she knows how upset he is to have to leave deployment early, and she told me that if it was up to her she's rather see him at the schedule homecoming in a few months with the rest of his unit, bc that would mean he's okay and he was getting to do what he was trained to do. she's such a humble girl, she's probably going to kill me for writing this, but i really just feel like she is such an awesome person to know, bc she really only knows how to see the bright side of things. instead of being sad or worried or miffed that her homecoming will be in a hospital, she's been gathering board games, snacks and DVD's to cheer her man up with. she made him an awesome Welcome Home carepack, and she's all ready to go crash on a friend's couch and spend whatever visting hours she can with him, all with a smile on her face. brittany, you are so rad, and i am really really proud of you. your DB is so very lucky to have you, and i cannot wait till you get to see him and hug him so very soon!!!

Aww you are too sweet rose!! And everyone that commented! You've got me totally choked up! I truly couldn't so it without you all! Answering my frantic calls/texts where I literally just mumbled jibberish without any words! I'm not doing anything special though I think that this is EXACTLY what being a military SO is all about. When they deploy when never know what's going to happen I'm very grateful his injury is not combat related and know there's many others that face much more horrifying situations than what we're dealing with.
