War+Enemy fire+Infantry Soldier's on the front lines= hard earned CIB
THE BADGE OF GLORY
![]() Is the one of Infantry Blue. It is only a rifle upon a wreath, So why should it mean so much? It is WHAT IT TOOK TO EARN IT That gives it that Magic Touch. To earn this special accolade You faced the enemy's fire Whether you survived or not God dialed that one desired. For those of us who served the cause It is the COMBAT INFANTRYMAN'S BADGE... THAT REALLY TELLS THE STORY ![]()

My ATHEIST husband spent 13 months in Afghanistan before being severely injured in an IED explosion that resulted with his lung collapsing and him being medivaced back to Ft. Bragg. The first time I saw him was on a gurney in the emergency room with a tube full of fluids leaking from the chest tube that had been inserted while he was in Afghanistan. Guess what, he's still an Atheist. How many people has your husband actually had to kill? Because my ATHEIST husband has had to he had to spend days as a sniper watching targets and their families before doing his duty and didn't change his beliefs. He is definitely not going to let some ******* like your husband insinuate that his beliefs are not true. From your past posts, I'd be willing to bet most of what you say about your husband is grossly exaggerated and I bet he doesn't even know you come on here spewing it. So get over your damned self. My husband IS STILL an Athiest Infantryman. Guess what, other military members did consecutive 16 month deployments, some did more than that and their spouses are members of this site. Just because they weren't Active army and happened to be Guard or Reserves doesn't make their long deployments less important than your "hubby's." I love how you bathe yourself in your man's PTSD but come and spout this drivel to someone whose husband was also injured in combat. You saying there are not Atheists in foxholes is like me saying Christianity is just a crutch for the weak who are not strong enough to make it through life on their own. How do you like it? Your "hubby" can go **** himself. That was from my husband. ![]() http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/m...2684&catid=162 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/1...n_n_67453.html Last edited by jen1982; 08-22-2009 at 09:49 AM. That was really uncalled for and crossing a line... You can agree to disagree or try and make your point without being rude and make assumptions about people...

Yea, CIBs used to mean something.. They don't anymore. My husband won't wear his, he says it's a joke.
One of the CSMs at Tallil was walking to Green Beans to get coffee a couple days before their unit was headed home. An RPG hit the post office, and the CSM thought that since he saw it, he should be awarded a CIM and a CAB. Since the post office was about 6 blocks away, every Fobbit who was inbetween the CSM and the PO got those same badges. ![]() CIBs aren't special anymore, everybody has them. Douchebag CSM took away the "special" for everyone who had legitimately earned them in real firefights, like my husband.. |

It's like the officers who are awarded Bronze Stars for holding a high position while deployed, even though they did nothing more valorous than the soldiers they were in charge of. |

My brother got a Silver Star on his first deployment. A 1LT was playing around in an abandoned Russian tank, and had an accident. He was trying to start it, and ended up flipping on the fuel pump which was attached to a broken fuel line, and arced the starter. The fuel sprayed into the hatch, and ignited. So did the 1LT.. So my brother crawled into the flaming tank and pulled him out. I read the paperwork that came with the award. ![]() So he got a Silver Star cuz the butterbar was a moron.. I still can't figure out what a gun-bunny was doing trying to fix a tank. He musta thought he was smart or something. |
