Seabee question
if your dh place of deployment isn't a war zone, like japan, or spain, is the wife allowed to go with him. i don't see how this would be possible just for the simple reason of moving all your stuff or putting it in a storage locker for 6 months. it would just be easier to stay home.

You cant go for the whole six months but say he's in hawaii, whats to stop you from flying over? If he wanted to spend alot of time withe you, he would have to take leave.

But there are times when you won't be able to go places with him because the orders are unaccompanied (sp) which basically means that he has to go alone no matter how long the his orders are for. For instance if he got stationed in Diego Garcia, those are strictly unaccompained meaning you can't go no matter what. The rule of thumb is that if he is stationed anywhere for more than 6 months he has the right to bring his family. But that means he has to have orders to that place. Not deployment.
