Okay so I'm newbie here..But I was hoping that some of you all could help me out.Me and my hubby are getting ready to move to Luke afb and I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little about the housing on base..We are trying to pick which one would be the best so if any of you all could help that would be GREAT!!!!

Hey!!! i was just there!! OMG i soooo wanted to live in the officers houses, they were like freakin mansions lol...anyhow the temporary living quarters i stayed in had two rooms 3 beds, a kitchen and laundry room, and lots of stuff included for 30 bucks a night...it was really great...do have a specific question or something you were wondering about?? i'd be happy to help

Hey
That was my base before this one and I LOVED it!! It's been 3 years but 3 years ago...I would say rent in Surprise or buy a house in Surprise. I loved it there. It was quiet and pretty and right near all the shops. It's also about 10-15 from base. Now base housing I lived in the newest housing they had. They didn't even have gate Guards there yet. But it was beautiful housing and very spacious.

I was never stationed there because we are Navy but I am from that area. If you can afford to buy there then it may be a good investment if the market goes up when you need to sell. Home prices have gone way up in the last few years but it is definitely a buyers market because people are having a really hard time selling so the negoiation is alot better. I am not sure what the BAH is but I can pretty much tell you that its probably not enough to cover rent/mortgage and utilities.

the city of suprise has some nice nice houses, if i were you i would stay off base...i mean if it doesn't matter too much to you the off base houses in the surrounding city are really nice and spacious
