This is an AMAZING self help book written by Shellie Vandevoorde, she is an ex- military woman and her husband is military. The book is a guide to long-distance relationships for military couples! Its absolutely awesome. You can purchase it for like 5 dollars on Amazon.com.

:yeehaw Subjects that are touched in the book are:

"Games" we play as couples and how to avoid them before deployments.

How to keep communication lines open, before, during, and after deployments.

Personal Security for you and your mate.

How to keep a Long distance budget.

Infidelity and how to keep yourself free from bad thoughts. (not like dirty thoughts but thoughts that your spouse or significant other is cheating on you)

Children. (different techniques for getting your children through deployments and how to connect with them during these times)

    Careers that are "military friendly"

    Life with your military man.

    Life without your military man.

    Home life.

    HOMECOMINGS!

    Prayer.

Decisions We NEVER Want To Make, But Might Have To...

    AND SOOO MUCH MORE!!

This book hits on every aspect of life, dating, engaged and marriage. There are SO many things in this book that we can learn and build on. Its a book that you can read OVER AND OVER again and still learn things from. Something that I learned about my relationship after reading it is that our minds tend to play games on us and make us think negative thoughts when our loved ones are deployed (cheating, death, etc). This book teaches you how to avoid those negative thoughts and how to live your life through a deployment and stay sane! I would recommend it for EVERY branch and EVERY Person, MAN or WOMAN. She keeps the book VERY neutral believe it or not ! I could go on for days! Just know its amazing!

    so Check it out!

I am all over that book, I am ordering it after I type this....more like during, lol. Do you think it would be beneficial for the active duty person, in this case my wife to read the book?? If so I am getting 2 books so she can read it on the ship so she can have a better understanding of what we go through here.
