    Fort Hood

Hi! DH and I are moving to Fort Hood soon and I was wondering what people could tell me about it? If I should live on or off post? Good universities nearby? What the community is like? If it's dog friendly ( we have a husky)?

I thought you guys weren't married yet? And as of 3 days ago, you said he didn't have his orders? People gave you answers re: on/off post in your other thread - Because I'm a newbie

Yeah, now I'm confused. In these threads you were having doubts about getting married because you're only 20. Did you guys get married in the last few days, or...?

In this one, you said you weren't engaged yet:
    Advice needed!!

    General question

Since you're not married, you won't be able to live on base. He'll be living in the dorms for a while. If you follow him, you'll have to live off base.

Not sure about your other questions!

Not sure what is going on but assuming you are not married, he will most likely be in the barracks and you would have to live off post. There's a lot of options of renting apartments or homes, so you should be able to find somewhere to live with a husky. Some landlords will have restrictions for pets but not all of them do. I think there is a dog park in Harker Heights but I haven't lived there in a few years, just heard people talking about it.

There is a local community college nearby that I know a lot of people attend. As for universities I'm not sure. I think Texas A&M has a satellite in Killeen. Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton is probably the closest university I think.

Oh, lying is a huge no-no here! You don't want to lose everyone's trust.

You could say "my boyfriend and I are planning on getting married when he gets to Ft. Hood..." and then ask your questions. But don't lie.

This. Even if you meant nothing of it, lying is a big no no and it won't end well.

We are on our way to Ft. Hood as well! We will be getting there End of April/Beginning of May timeframe.
