    Packing Motivation or Lack of

    Advertisements
I am lacking the motivation to pack for our move. Anyone else a last minute packer?

This week is my last week of work and I am hoping that having the free time will motivate me to pack.

I do not pack our household goods, just the things we need immediately. Let the professionals handle it. That's what they get paid for.

Yeah, Im a last minute packer. And a last minute cleaner. Seriously, I get more done the day before or of an event than the weeks leading up to it. Ive got more focus then, and less time to procrastinate. And I am the queen of procrastination. Like now, i should be cleaning and organizing the house before DH gets home and before the movers come. But ya know what, Ive got a month+ til he comes home. Im just going to enjoy my laziness and me time for a little longer.

    This.

Unless we're moving house to house locally. Then I pack a room a weekend starting with what we don't absolutely need on a day to day basis to function first, like books, movies, excess clothes, etc.

Are you doing a DITY (or whatever they call it these days)?

We had movers move the majority of our stuff, but we filled up both our cars with a lot and I did procrastinate when it came to packing that . The organizing process and the purging of unwanted items before the movers show up really stresses me out too.

Me!! we're hopefully closing on a house next week (was supposed to be this week, but that's a long story) and all we've done so far is pack the kitchen, guest bedroom, and that's about it. We suck lol!

The movers have already came and packed up our house. I have been staying with my parents while he was gone to help save money. Now, I am very close to moving and I have a bunch of stuff that I need to pack up and load into our truck. I just have no motivation to pack, at this point it almost overwhelming. I rather catch up on Arrow :p. I feel like next week when I am not working I will have more motivation/time to actually process what I need to do. I have to pack a travel suitcase for both me and little one and that takes some pre planning. We are moving from the West Coast to the East Coast and I am pretty sure we don't own any winter clothes for an East Coast winter.

Right! I take this time to shuffle through stuff, why take things that I don't use or have a need for aymore. I swear I have made 3 trips to Goodwill already and still have piles of clothes on my bedroom floor that I need to donate. It's a never ending cycle

You're doing it by yourself? Then hell yeah I'd be putting that off as long as possible.

Especially when you could be doing other things. Like watching Stephen Amell take his shirt off or put arrows into bad guys.

Yup, I hear you! Burlington coat factory is a great place to find reasonably priced winter clothes. East Coast winters are brutal. Since we moved here, every Christmas I ask for sweaters, gloves, and scarves. What state are you headed to?

It takes moving to realize how much crap is in my house that I don't need.
