    blue to green program

    Advertisements
Has anyone heard of this? My husband is seriously thinking about switching from Navy to Army and I was wondering if anyone else's spouse has done this and the pros and cons. I was looking forward to our next duty station being San Diego so I'm pretty bummed about it.

Going Greenside means you go with the Marines. If he's talking about going to the Army, that's switching branches altogether.

Well, that's not going green - that's going Army.

Make sure it's something he really wants to do. Army medics are treated like crap and have 12 + month deployments whereas a Greenside Corpsman will be gone for 6-9 months tops.

The Army was offering huge bonuses ($20K) for Corpsmen to cross over. I don't know if they're still doing it. I know they're desperate for medics.

I know hubby has been thinking about Army OCS or Warrent Officer... but that is a different kettle of fish... not too sure how I feel about, tho at this point, he is not sure how he feels about anything.
    Oh well,
    Good luck to ya!

I've read about it in the news a while ago. DF is more interested in becomming an officer than switching to Army. Thank God!

Joe has been thinking about doing that too. I really want him to since I'm an Army brat so I understand the green people more than I do these confusing blue people. It took me the longest time to understand that the "head" was the same thing as the "latrine" I have a piece of paper somewhere in my junk drawer about it that I'll find and type up what it says for you.
    Under construction...

Actually highlighting everything and hitting delete was a lot easier than fixing what was here....

I'll think of something clever to put here someday....
