    the commands that walter has been with, it has ranged anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month ahead.

    a few days, but getting it approved depends on their work load...But since there is just a handful of them, its not hard to get it approved.

    Yeah I would think that it has to be a month atleast that it was DH always tells me. and any sooner will be too early and any later might be too late...

    In the AF, they request at least 2 weeks out. My DH has done it the day before depending on work load. The longer out the better. Just for prep work.

    When I had my surgery scheduled, hubby gave his Chief a head's up about it, but couldn't submit his official request any earlier than 30 days. Like others have said, it all depends on the command and what's going on there.
