    Question about AIT

    for a friend.Will they move your family with you for AIT? also, since he has dependents he should get bah regardless right?

    I dont believe thats correct. When my wife was in the Army before the Navy I stayed in IL and got paid bah and it was just me at the time and we got it immediately. Her AIT was 6 months so I do not think they will move you there just to move you again after AIT, that cost a lot of money to move so the govt, even though can waste money in other ways, won't do that unless it is going to be his/her duty station.

    I don't beleive u can move somewhere for AIT in the army but not sure about other branches

    Basicaly as far as the Army goes if the spouses AIT is over 20 weeks the Army will pay for you to move to the base with your spouse. Do not count on seeing him often if at all because at my hubbies AIT they were on passes and sometimes if someone screws up everyone suffer, you know the whole drill. But yes as long as it is over 20 weeks you can. I was at AIT with my hubby and there were numerous wives who lived outside the base or on and the Army moved them there. The other thing is it can also depend on the command or if they even tell the spouse at MEPS.
