Question packing up!

So I'm just wondering.. for those of you who have PCSed before, how soon did you start packing up the non-essential items that you wouldn't need? and how soon for all of the other stuff? We leave in a little less than 2 months now and have started packing up things that we won't be needing.

We've never really packed our stuff except the stuff we are taking with us since we have packers come do our stuff. I would say if you are packing it all its better to start sooner rather than later.

We're 6 weeks from DH coming home and I've started packing up (I have stuff at like 4 different places, haha). Hoping for the movers to be here within a few weeks.

Other than packing what we are taking with us or paying out of pocket to put in storage, I've never packed anything. The movers do it when they get to my house.

We never did a dity move, but I would say as long you know know you're not going to use the things you're packing you should be ok. Those last three weeks will probably be the busiest. I would definitely be taking everything off the walls and cleaning knick knacks and things like that. You could probably buy paper plates and cups ect. and eat off that stuff for the last month or so. So you could pack up your dinnerware. I don't know just some tips

Good luck with your move

If I were doing it all on my own I don't think 2 months would be too early, I'd probably start even earlier

yes, those are good ideas.. I think DH said he was going to start taking things off the wall next weekend. We have to put spackle in the holes and paint over it so we should def get started on it!

thanks
