Please don't do that. It is almost as easy to use caulking. Causes isssues for the people who come after you.

Fair enough! One of my gf's told me to do that when we moved but, we didn't have very many wall fixtures. Housing didn't even notice the little holes we had made I never thought of it causing complications for others. My grandfather rents houses out and he tells all his renters to try using strait pins to hang things. I don't know how they hold up, but they built their home and almost all their frames are held by pins, it's pretty crazy.

Good job getting a head start! I find that even when movers are coming there are still items I want packed the way I want them packed. I give myself about a 2 month head start, and then I think I have all this time, get sidetracked and end up behind. lol Just keep going little by little and you'll be done in no time.
