another question about housing
My husband just told me that as of jan. 1st they arent housing anyone new at Great Lakes anymore. we have to find a private person and do a lease thing. Whats up with that? Is he right? we're supost to be moving there like now, well as soon as housing is approved and our stuff is shipped. Whats going on?

As far as the January 1st date is concerned that is the date housing switched to PPV. Meaning we do get BAH and then pay our BAH. It is now owned by a civlian company. You sign a lease here in housing (with a military clause) etc. So it is likely that is what your husband is referring to. The fact that this is PPV now and we are required to pay rent, sign leases etc
go to www.nsgreatlakesliving.com and you can either contact someone about it or read up on it. I doubt it since I have seen new people move in recently. The problem is they are tearing down every house in here in phases and rebuilding them all. So phase 1 has been moved into different housing here in GL to house them so they can tear down the ones they were in. I highly doubt they'd shut people down about moving here |
