Yes and nothing because it was stateside to overseas so the military covered it.

I think it is a couple grand to do it state to state not sure though.

I read your other post....it might be cheaper to drive the truck than ship it.

We looked at shipping my car from California to Georgia...it wasn't that expensive...$800-1200 depending on the company. We did end up both just driving our own cars though. If we ever PCS that far again, we're shipping a car. It was too stressful and boring.

there is a way to get money from the military when you ship a vehicle conus to conus.

you still have to do all the leg work, pay up front and then can get reimbursed part of the cost of shipping it.

I shipped a vehicle from FL to CA. It was $800 and change. It was our second vehicle so it was not covered by the Navy. BTW, that expense is a tax deduction!

We're shipping our 2nd car in a few weeks when we PCS. Its costing us 1045.00 (Washington DC to California). But its money well spent. I cannot imagine trying to drive cross country & entertaining 3 kids for the entire time. I'd have a head of gray hair by the end of the trip. I am flying out with the kids & my hubby is driving our primary car across country.

    Judi-THANKS! Good info to know

I have a truck that doesn't get good gas mileage that's why I don't want to drive it seeing that the prices are climbing. Then I have a ford focus. I can't drive booth. So i'd rather take the one good on gas ya know?
