Moving to CA- he's still in Tech School, any help with the move?

Hi everyone, if a similar post is out there, I'm sorry and please feel free to redirect me. I've only found posts about permanent stations. Well, I just got married on Valentine's Day and I want to move out to California ASAP. Since he is still in tech school, am I like a non-person to the military? Is there any assistance that can be provided? DH doesn't really have time to go about the base asking questions so I was wondering if you guys could help. And if there's no assistance, what do you think the cheapest way is to send my stuff and car from FL to CA?? To ship a car it's like 1,000 but then I just saw a post that you can rent a uhaul and haul your car on a trailer?? The quotes seem to be 1800 for the truck, 200-400 for the trailer . . . oh so pricey. And it's far . . . any help??? Thanks in advance.

It will save you all that money if you wait till he gets his orders and the military will move you both to his first PCS.

Because it is tech school unfortunatly, you will have to pay for the move yourself. Hiring a u-haul or penske truck or something like that is the cheapest way to go.

Were you married before he went to tech school? That is the difference.

I pulled a Uhaul trailer behind my Cr-V whenever we moved and it was pretty reasonable in cost, but it you have a small car that might not work.
