    Shipping a vehicle overseas...

I know we are authorized to ship 1 vehicle. Do you choose where to take it to be shipped from or do they assign the closest place?

I don't know! I would assume that it's the closest place to your current duty station.

Honestly, when you can get a used can at a decent post from the lemon lot OCONUS, it's not really worth it. Also you will need to look into regulations as far as if they drive on the same side of the car etc

The government will ship one car. You will get paperwork on where to take it too. There are ports all over the place where to take it too. Contact tmo.

When we shipped ours to Korea we were given the option of where we wanted to ship it from.

Thank you! You knew what I was asking DH is in Korea so I'm trying to figure all this out on my own. I was hoping they would let us choose so I could drive to NJ and ship it from there. Thanks again.

They will tell you where the closest port is. Ours was St. Louis...

I am in Las Vegas I guess the closest would be LA but I was hoping to drive to NJ to see family there since we would be flying from the east coast.
