    Gas mileage rate down

    Advertisements
I can't believe how much the mileage rate changed. Its going to cost us a lot out of pocket now. It hasn't been this low in years and gas hasn't really gone down much. It went from .24 to .165

Just when we are PCSing 2 cars from Maryland to Calif. Lots of miles. :-) I guess DLA will have to help with Gas.

Your post is so full of "What if's" it doesn't even make sense. Thank You I've done the math. Our older SUV's doesn’t get anywhere near 24 miles a gallon. It actually auto reads our miles per gallon. But its great you assume everyone’s gas mileage. Seriously? Oh no let me guess...I should sell the older one and get a new one. Yea that would cost less. LMAO.

EFFECTIVE DATE MALT RATE / POC
    01 JAN 10 $0.165 / Mile
    01 JAN 09 $0.24 / Mile
    01 JUL 08 $0.27 / Mile
    01 JAN 08 $0.19 / Mile
    25 SEP 07 $0.20 / Mile

Normally MALT corresponds with gas prices. Now its gone way down put prices haven’t fallen. Yes a few cents makes a difference driving cross country. Do the math like you say.

So yes the point stands it went down quite a bit. Yes we know our consumption per mile and no 16 cents doesn’t cover it. Let alone any wear and tear. Yes we are quite capable of paying the difference that isn’t the point. Yes we've been doing this for 11 years and yes this is the first time it's been anywhere near this low for MALT for what the gas prices are. Yes it is shocking that it went down almost 8 cents per mileage when the gas prices really haven't dropped. And yes it makes a big difference when your are driving completely cross country. And as you said they partial reimburse for moving a car so I don't see the difference when your speaking of cost. And again that has nothing to do with the simple fact of letting people know MALT has dropped 8 cents. Last time we sold a car and drove one. This time that isn’t an option just incase you want to assume more facts.

Ok one more thing. You must have never driven cross country. We've done it several times. It take WAY more then filling up a car 4 times. I WISH. Try at least double that.
