    Whatever Official Passports?

    Advertisements
I was just told that I need an official passport (brownish cover) not a tourist passport (blue cover) in order to move to Japan. The closest base to me is 300 miles. I would prefer not to have to go there. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do? Has anybody done this and how did you do it? Any advice or information you can give me would help.

    Thanks Ladies!

It's called a no-fee passport... I believe if you contact your closest base they will be able to help you with the paperwork from a distance. Do you need EFMP screening too? Call the base, they can at least help you get the right info (hopefully).

No you will have to go to the base to apply & pick it up.

Also a no-fee is still the same color....blue. My kids & I have no-fee passports while DH has a tourist. Our's all look exactly the same.

Where in Japan are you heading?

Thanks for the information. We are going to Sasebo. No official date but they said early this year. Its my first PCS so I am stressing about every little thing. Also I have never been to Asia so I think being nervous adds to it. But I have heard great things about Japan. How do you like it?
