cheap flights? - Military Moves and Relocation

my so wants to go home for leave, but we're both flat broke. he can't seem to find a flight home (from KS to oregon) for less than 500, which neither of us can afford. he's not really the type that will ask around about discounts or anything, i was wondering if anybody here knew anything about getting cheaper plane tickets?

by any chance are you a college student... if so i have found a website that gives discounted airtickets.

Google cheap flights. There are many of websites i know of. Travelocity is quite good. Zuji.com.au is very good too (all aussie prices) and yeah- cheapflights.com i think exists too. Lol you will find one if you search. I never ever go to a travel agent because they charge the flight then commission ontop. BLAH!

american airlines was really cheap, but make sure you get refundables! especaially being int he military b/c things could always change. good luck!

yeh if you get AA make sure your luggage is bloody insured.

We found some awesome deals on www.orbitz.com

I just did a search from Kansas City to Portland and found some flights for $288 in Nov.

Flights are all going to be more expensive because it's the holiday season, but search websites like

www.cheaptickets.com
www.orbitz.com
www.priceline.com
www.travelocity.com
www.expedia.com

those are all sites I've used, but find that orbitz and cheaptickets usually have the lowest prices! GOOD LUCK!!!

You could even try www.hotwire.com but be careful about the tickets that you buy without knowing the time... DON'T BUY THEM!!!

My aunt said Jet Blue is really cheap. I've never used them, so I don't know much about them.
