SO husband just got orders to go to mannheim yesterday! I have no idea where to start...the report date is july 1st so i still have some time, but what should i start doing now? He is also leaving to ait again in jan. so i wont really have him to help out. I dont think im on his orders so should he add me now? and how do you do that? i'll be having a baby at the begining of april so he will be around 3 months, am i supposed to get travel orders for the baby or do anything special like get a passport or am i going to have to wait til he is older?
ANy help at all would be great...even if its just random information about the location or housing! thanks so much! |

First, relax...you have more time than you think. You'll have to wait for him to get command sponsorship before he can even apply for housing. You don't really want to go over until he has that because you won't have a place to live (you know how that works). Don't worry about packing...someone will come and do that for you. Definately get your passport now if you don't have one and get one for baby as soon as possible after he is born. Since your DH won't be going until July 1st, don't expect for you and baby to be able to head over until around Sept or so...it really depends on how quickly your DH gets his paperwork done and gets into housing...then how quick the movers can get to you.
