We got orders! - Military Moves and Relocation

[By the time we get there we'll be married] but we're going to Ft Lee, VA. I know theres a bunch of girls on here in VA- anyone know anything about it? What housing is like, colleges? Any insight will be appreciated.

on your DF getting his orders. If you get married before you PCS, make sure he gets his orders amended to include you.

well you are going to be closer to Richmond than you will be to Hampton Roads so I cannot tell you what housing and stuff is like.

As for schools it depends on what degree you are wanting but VCU is a great school... my mom go her PhD from there and enjoyed it a lot.

My brother lives in Chester, which is about 15 minutes from Ft. Lee. The PX and Commissary are new, we haven't seen much else of base, since we didn't go on base very often. Looking for a home off-base I would avoid parts of Hopewell and Colonial Heights.

, We get married in December and we don't report there until April so I'm sure we'll have time to get them amended, right?
