NIOC Kunia, HI?
I have no idea where this is (Other than Oahu) what this is...housing...apartments...RAH.
Needless to say I'm panicing. Where is Kunia NIOC in comparison to Pearl Harbor? Someone from the area want to give me the scoop?

He's going to stay on base until I get there. We'd like to move into a place off base if we can...but if there's nothing around, plans may change. As long as I can have a puppy I'm fine.

Without traffic I'd probably say it would be about 30 minutes. But there will be traffic in high commute times. Lots of it.
I should add that it is pretty much the opposite side of the island from Pearl Harbor. Inland a little ways from the north shore.

It's the Intel base on Oahu. It's on Kunia Road right next to Schofield Army base. It's where I worked when I was there. If you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Navy housing in Pearl Harbor is actually really nice, and not on the base (most of it). You'll probably get more for your money there than off base, and you'll save in gas, utilities, etc. But Kunia is a nice area if that's where you choose to live.

This is good info. I knew Pearl Harbor was really nice. I didn't know much about Kunia. I'll check out those areas, for sure.
And this may be silly. But if there's a Best Buy around, that'd be nice. It's currently my mode of employment. By the time I get to Hawaii, I will have my B.A. but I don't know if I can find a job right away.

And just an FYI, there are also new very nice houses on Wheeler and Schofield.

I'll look there too. God knows DF won't. The plan is for him to live in barraks when he first gets there to save money, etc, and closer to our wedding I'll fly out to look with him for an apartment or home. I have time, I'm just a stress nut. I've NEVER lived outside of San Diego. Or outside of my city in San Diego. So this is a HUGE jump for me. Welcome to the military, eh?
