How much? - Military Moves and Relocation

Does anyone know what the average cost is to move a military member and family? I'm just curious how much they are saving with us staying in Gulfport.

I could be wrong, but I think they go by your SO's rank and what kind of move you do.

Im not sure either, but I think it averages 5-10K depending on rank, since each rank is allowed a different amount of weight...
(i was 1200 pounds over this last move

we heard they charge 55 cents to a dollar per pound... but we haven't been told anything official)

I think DH and I got just over $5,000. He is an E4.

We were told that a E6 with a family of 5 would cost 14,000 to move us from here in great lakes to Cali. SO they said no and are thinking about sending us to gulfport.

We just did a government move and partial dity move. We got over $1,000 for the dity move part and we moved 380 lbs. DH was an E4.

yes we are trying to get back into the battalion. if we get to transfer in june like we are suppose to then right now they have us down for gulfport.
