My Husband, My Sailor, My Hero <3

Portland, Oregon
My husband and I were discussing where to move when he gets out of the Navy and we've decided on Portland, Oregon. He is from Idaho and has family in Portland. I have lived my whole life in Jacksonville, FL. I am now open to moving anywhere in the United States after living in VA for a little over a year - kind of made me get past the whole "I can't move anywhere else except Florida" phase, LOL. Anyways, I was wondering is anyone on here from Portland? Or have you visited and liked it? I've looked into the city and it seems very eclectic, which I love. I'm hoping for the best

I lived there for 10 years. It's a really great town, and for it's size, it's got TONS of stuff to do. There's great museums, beautiful parks, amazing theater and nightlife and arts and restaurants. It's really a beautiful city and it's got a lot of things going for it. It's a good place to raise a family and it's also good for young people just wanting to have a good time. The city is REALLY green and there are a lot of easy ways to make your lifestyle more green as well. I love Portland. If you have any specific questions, ask and I'll do my best to answer them.

My dh was born and raised in Portland and I have been there and really liked it. I love the Saturday Market but I don't know exactly where that is, LOL! Dh would know. His mom still lives there, she works for Pape, it used to Hyster which makes heavy equipment like forklifts. We are considering moving there after he retires from the navy.
ETA: here is an interesting tidbit about Portland, the world's smallest park is there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_Ends_Park |

Saturday Market is right downtown by the Burnside bridge and is really fun. They have a TON of vendors that sell all sorts of stuff.

I am not from Portland but have visited. I love Portland. My first trip, a few friends and I flew down to go Christmas shopping (There is seriously no shopping here) we were supposed to be gone three days and eneded up staying thirteen. Portland is the best, I love it!

I was born and raised in Eugene. I love Portland! It's a great city that's half way between the coast and the mountains. Really can't ask for more than that. Oregon is beautiful and I can't imagine living anywhere else. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
