df confused me - Military Moves and Relocation

he said at one point that me and him could live together off-base if we were NOT married once he gets his orders. then last night we were discussing it again and he said that he CANNOT live off-base unless he is married. which one is right?

could it be because he's a nuke or something? please anyone help if you can.

i think it depends on the command, from what i understand some will and some won't

It depends on his rank mostly. If he's less than an E-4 they most likely wont let him live off base not being married and IF he gets permission to he wont get BAH. Has nothing to do with being a nuke, My husband is a nuke.

he's an e-4 now but by time he gets his orders he'll be e-5. he has some really good stuff on his service record will that make a difference in their consideration

You make E-5 by taking a test.... If he doesn't pass the test it doens't matter how good his record looks.

If he IS an E-5 when he gets his orders then he will be able to live in town and collect single BAH.

Sarah don't forget most nukes are handed E5 for reupping.
So right now no he can't and depeding on his command whether he can when he gets there.

Yah I know my husband passed the E-5 exam, but before he knew he passed he re-enlisted and got E-5 anyway lol
