Okay Girls,
I see there are so more USS Nassau people on here. We are getting stationed there in next month. Dh is hoping they will fly him out the ship. We should be moving there next month. I hope to meet you all!! DH has been a west coast sailor the whole time we have been together (12 years) but he was only in VA when he first joined 16 years ago. So we know NOTHING about VA really.

There are several naval bases in the area..
Norfolk Naval base, which is the big base
Oceana naval base, which is where all the planes are stationed
Little Creek Amphibious Base (where my husband is stationed)
And Damneck (but I'm not sure if that is a naval base)
There is also Fort Story which is a army base

I have things that John wanted me to mail to him, while they are deployed. What is the mail cut off date for him to receive it before they return?

I should have registered as Proud Mom, huh ?

Is there an index somewhere with all the military abbreviations? I'm still having a hard time learning Navy jargon.

oh and answer to your question about the mail. I've noticed as they get closer the mail doesnt take as long. I sent out a package the first of March and he got about a week and half later. So its all up to you. I was going to send out one more myself before they get back.

I'm not sure if they know each other or not. But I am getting so excited that they are on their way back!!!
