once he does that, you are automatically enrolled in prime..which is where you go off base and have copays and everthing. if you want standard, you have to go to the offcie and enroll in it. there is a satelite office at nas jax right in between the exchange and commisary in that little plaza vendor area. i went there and had the lady explain everything and she gave me a few books that explain everything..it was really helpful

Just being on the page 2 doesn't mean you are enrolled in tricare you need to make sure you are enrolled in DEERS. THAT is where you will be under his healthcare.

this is coming from my dh who is a Yeoman...ok...with him adding you to his page 2 it enrolled you in DEERS ONLY.,.you have to go into a Tricare center to enroll in the heath care...Prime is where you see Military and don't pay a co-pay..Standard is where you see who you want and pay a co-pay.

Yep you are automatically enrolled into standard which is the co-pays, deductibles, and you pay 20% of the bill you can go to http://www.tricare.osd.mil/ and click on your region and find the form for Prime. Then fill it out and send it in. Once it is sent in you can call and choose your Primary care manager etc. Prime, for us, is much better because there is no out of pocket cost...

I see you're in Jax there's got to be a tricare office there...it's so much easier if you go in...sign the papers bc then they'll give you a copy you keep until your card comes in the mail....

You should be able to go the DEERS office and get enrolled in Tricare! That is what we did...ofcourse I had to wait until I was on his page 2. And depending on what part of the month you go, you may have to be on Tricare standard for a little while...for example..we applied June 29 and I had to wait until Aug first to be on Prime. If that happens to you, make sure when you get your Prime card that you call them and make sure they switched you!!!
