DA 5888 help - Military Moves and Relocation

i know you have to DA 5888 to get a physical screening for overseas done. my question is does DHs sgt have to sign it before i can go get my physical or can he sign it after i have the physical done. fort drums EFMP office is trying to tell me that i need to get it signed by DH's command before they'll even see me? just wondering. also will VA hospitals do these exams?

At Fort Benning it had to be signed prior to you attending your EFMP screening.

i know some girls have just gone to regular tricare approved doctors and had it done? im confused about all of this. ill make sure to get it pre-signed. how long will that take and who has to sign it?

The S1 has to sign it and it does not take long at all. Ours signed ours the minute we handed it to him.
