As far as I know, you will have to move yourself. But I'm not 100% sure.

You will have to move yourself on base. We're getting ready to go from off base to on and that's what we were told we had to do.

You have to move yourself. The Army will not pay for anything at this point unless you PCS or you were on base and were forced off by housing closing etc.

The Army just paid to move a friend of mine on post from off post. I also had a friend back at Fort Bragg who moved on post from off post, and the Army also moved them for free.

I think if you have been waiting for housing since you moved there (ie not originally choose off base and than later on decided on base) the military does move you. Call your finance and ask.

We got on the waiting list and when a house opened up, they moved us on post If you applied for housing when you got there, and there was a waiting list, then yes, they will move you.

In the two instances I was talking about, neither were on the waiting list upon arriving there. One girl's lease was up and they wanted to raise the rent, so she got on the waiting list for housing. The other girl got out of her lease because of a problem with mold and got into housing.

Regardless, like Karen said, I would call and ask them.

The Army will move you if they determine it's in the best interests of the government to move you on post. There is paperwork involved to get that status and you'll have to get it approved. You should call your housing office to ask about it.

From my understanding the Army will pay for your move from off post to on post. But then again I have to agree you should call first to double check!
