    Confused First time move-Ft. Bliss

    Advertisements
I tried to back track and see if this question was already answered, but I could not find it. Is there a program where I could stay in some type of lodging in El Paso while looking for a house? If so do they pay for it or do we pay for it and then get reimbursed for the cost?

I need to know ASAP my hubby is on a short leave and I am spending some time with him here in Texas with family. So instead of going back to Georgia right now we thought I could stay and look for a house, but I need some sort of lodging.

Now you have to call them to see if there is space available. And if you are pcsing there, the military will only pay for a certain time frame before the cost is on you for lodging. So after that time if you don't have on post housing, you can stay there and pay or move off base.

But wait I see this is just for you not necessarily with the PCS. The cost will be all on you and they may or may not have space (since members on temp duty there or moving to or from Bliss have rights above regular visitors.

What I mean is if you are not just moving there on orders or leaving there on orders your stay in lodging is as a visitor. And that means you can be bumped for anyone on orders.

But if he has orders to be stationed there than he can get lodging for a certain amount of time paid by the gov't.

    Clarifcation please:

he is at school there ? when did he get orders to stay? and are you on the orders to move from the HOR to the new duty location?

these answers will help me determine if you are elegible for TLE or not.

Ok so your in town but are you on his orders?

If you were then he can get his Travel Allowances or at least some DLA money and then they would cover at least 5-10 days in base lodging.

This would happen when he does his Finance Briefings at Inprocessing.
