Well hops are space A so any flights unless on orders are space available. You can get bumped at any point at any location for someone who is on orders. With no guarentees on when you can get back on your flight.

Now you realize that without being on your husbands orders your son does not have command sponsorship to be living in Japan and your husband will not be able to count him as part of the household IN Japan.

No sorry, he must be command sponsored for the military to count him as a member to be there.

One big thing to know it that he could be denied certain things. One thing is medical. Now he won't be flat out denied medical, but without command sponsorship he will have to be on tricare standard and you will have copays. This may have changed but that was the rule in 2006.

Another thing, he may be denied school in DOD schools, your husband may not get and extra bedroom that you might get if your son was command sponsored.

There are many factors you need to look into. What was the reason your son did not get command sponsorship? Is there plans to try for sponsorship after your husband gets to Japan?

There were custody issues and we wernt sure if he was going to be able to go, so we were thinking that he would just fly back and forth but now its all settled he will be going.

Ya we will try and get him sponsored once my DH is in Japan.
