    weighing car for DITY

    Advertisements
when you weigh your car for a DITY are you allowed to weigh it in two different weighstations? There's one near work I'd like to go to today but it's not en-route to new duty station, and I'll need to stop somewhere else with the car full.

We had our stuff weighed full when we got to our location and weighed empty after unloading the next day. Just save your weigh tickets.

you can do it anyplace you want- it can be at 2 different places- it can be at the old or new duty station-

BUT if you wait and do it after leave- you need to make sure that you understand if something happens to your stuff- loss due to theft or fire- you have no proof of the weight you started with an will have a very hard time getting reimbursed- and also will have a hard time proving you had the stuff for insurance reasons.

    I never advocate waiting.

also if there are any costs they will be accounted for when you apply for the reimbursement ( IE tolls and weight tix costs)

thanks everyone. Got it weighed empty, it was quite comical, as I have never set foot on a weigh station before and was the only young chick there. The truckers were all laughing at me--I went on the scale the wrong way the first time! HAHA! Oh well. Live and learn.
