How long does it take the Army to set up a PCS move? I mean using the Army movers and all?

They're civilian movers that are contracted. If you're aiming for a certain date to move I suggest going in as early as 2 months prior to your PCS to ensure you get the dates you want. If you have to rush it, you can do it in about 2-3 weeks.

Can they use the rates from the previous calendar year? She keeps telling me that the 'rates' aren't in but I think they're just playing with me because I'm a woman and look younger than I am. I was told they can just use the rates from the year before. Is that true? I set this up three weeks ago.

I am not sure- thier rates should not matter unless you are doing a FULL PPM and are asking for a partial payment.

if you are doing a full GOV move- it will not matter what the rates are.

and they should be able to set up a pack out date for you.

We got it straightened out this morning. She said the rates or whatever will be in this morning. I sent her a nice but firm email saying I needed a date confirmation, and she was much nicer. Thanks!
