Where do you bank? Is there a bank that is better to be affiliated with for when you move to different places every couple of years?

We finally switched to USAA. We have them for car insurance as well.
Some of the benefits of having a checking account with them: They re-imburse up to $30 or so in ATM fees. We get a small amount of cash back when we use our debit card (around $10 a month). You bank with them online, they mail you free postage paid deposit slips and get free checks. I have had no problems with them.

dh uses usaa...I always used a bank close to my hometown in Joliet, IL...I don't want to change banks right now cause I have my mortgage and all my bills being autopaid out of that account. Once my house sells I'll probably open an account with usaa. I also have an account at navy federal, but since I don't have an id card yet to get on post...depositing money is a bitch. Usually I just mail my checks in with these prepaid envelopes they provide you with. It works, but I sometimes like having the option of visiting my bank if needed.

We use NFCU. So far there has been a branch somewhat close everywhere we've been except for in Maine, there wasn't one very close there, but we were only there 7 months.

i have a FCU account from my hometown, and a bank with my hometown.

If i need $$ out, i'll go to walmart or a store i can get cash back...(if it's a small amount) otherwise i'll hit an ATM and dont worry about the $2 fee.
