    Advertisements
i have heard/read that if your NAME is not on orders it can be a problem... my DH just got his today and it just said "with dependents" i asked him about this and he said that his command told him that is the only way that the army does it. do i have to worry ? all info re this greatly appreciated.

They always say with dependents. It is actually better that way, so that all dependants on the page 2 are covered.
    Needs work.

The page 2 is a seperate thing from his orders. It lists his dependents and benificiaries, emergency contacts and other important info.
    Needs work.

Here is what orders should say when dependents are authorized...

    ***THIS IS NAVY***

"THIS TRANSFER FUNDED FOR MEMBER AND AUTH DEPENDENTS AS REFLECTED ON
SERVICE RECORD PAGE 2 AND OTHER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. PER JFTR U5215,
DEPENDENTS ACQUIRED ON OR PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ORDERS ARE
AUTH TRAVEL/TRANSP ALLOWANCES FROM THE PLACE AT WHICH ACQUIRED TO THE
NEW PDS, UP TO THE TVL/TRANSP ENTITLEMENT FOR TVL FROM OLD PDS TO THE
NEW PDS. PLEASE REFER TO JFTR APPENDIX A FOR DEFINITION OF EFFECTIVE
DATE OF PCS ORDERS. QUESTIONABLE CASES SHOULD BE REFERRED TO PERS-40
    CC FOR RESOLUTION."

No, the 1172 is for your ID card I think.

Not sure for army. We would get ours from our PSD office (personnel support).
    Needs work.

The only exception where your name must be listed is if you are going OCONUS. OCONUS orders must have all dependants listed.
