    Advertisements
SO I know in a normal DITY move eyou send in all your recipts and what not bu I know with a seperation DITY move its differnt. I was told you only fill out a travel voucher and weigh your truck, the rest doesn't mattere beause its a flat rate, can anyone direct me to the actualy information so I can calculate what we would actually get paid for a DITY move?

    Thanks.

Best best is to call TMO at your base. They will have the most current information in regards to what is required.

I looked and all I can find is how to go about doing a dity move. I was unable to find the formula for how they figure what amount you will received based off your weight only that you get so much according to your weight of goods.

    Still looking though.

ETA: here is a link I found through AF crossroads. I would use this for an informational guide til you talk to TMO. It doesn't appear as if a separation dity is that much different than a pcs dity.

Sezzy, you were lied too! you will want to save all your reciepts as like any other full PPM move-
here is why: saving reciepts lowers or "on paper" profit, there by lowering the taxes you will pay.
what they do is this: say you will get 10,000 dollars for the TOTAL weight of what you move:
    your truck cost 2,000
    packing materials cost 500
    gas cost 500
    tolls cost 200
    additional insurance 200
    = 3400
    3400 - 10000= 6600 dollars in profit-

    6600 x 28%= 1848 in taxes

    1848-6600= 4752 profit..

you will still get all 10,000 minus the 1848, but you will not pay taxes on the FULL 10,000

    HTMS.

so we sent in all the stuff to the Navy cause we just did a Partial POV DITY move... but how does all the receipts and stuff help with taxes? like what forms do we fill out and stuff at the end of the year?

oh and for any one who has done this how long did it it take for you to get the Per Diem money and Reimbursement money... i just want to know how long to wait before its TO LONG. You know, so i know when to worry and start searching for who we contact if it never comes or somethings wrong.

    Thanks everyone!

first hopefully when you say you sent in all the reciepts you meant to say you sent ALL COPIES of the reciepts and not the originals....

secondly the taxes are done on the PROFIT of the PPM-
so if you spent 300 on insurance, boxes, trailer ect and got 500 back you will pay taxes on the 200 dollar profit.

it can take from 4-12 weeks on average to get the money.
