    Help seperation" anxiety

    Advertisements
Hi everyone how are you all doing? I am starting to get REALLY anxious about the upcoming move. The majority of my anxiety is because of the unknown. I am a worry wort so this is really bogging me down. I will try to make this short but its likely to be long.

DH is seperating the military June this year but starts terminal leave at the end of march. The way the company works, we go to Salt Lake Cityfor his first week of work. He will then find out where the openings with the company are, and choose a location. The hard part, he has to report to duty the next Monday. Well we are driving to Salt Lake, and we will return to Vegas that Friday and he should be in another state by Monday. We are hoping for GA or ND so its a distance. They will pay to fly him, but if he does that, he won't have his truck. It would be fine but I can't move a house, a car, and a truck. The most I can do is the house and a car.

NOW, he hay get ND or he may stay in Vegas. Either way we won't know till last minute. If I knew I was leaving Vegas I would be packing already. If I knew I was staying I wouldn't worry. So this is really frazzling me.

If dh goes to ND (Where we are expecting) then he won't be able to take much leave. He will only get maybe two days off or so. I told dh that was fine if he wants to fly in, but I am trying to fly somone else out here. I offered to bring my best friend or my dad out, someone who can also drive. DH is fine with help but doesn't want anyone to see our house.

Ok then there is a moving truck. I am fine with geting a big truck and even driving the truck and towing my car. THe largest truck Uhaul makes is 17 and 26 feet. We could get away with a 17 foot one I think because its just us two plus some stuff. The cost for that truck, 8 days of use, and the miles to fargo ND is $1264. That isn't too bad, but I don't know what the military will cover, the mileage is about the same as to dh's home of record.

So, can anyone help ease my mind, give me tips, or give me any information you have? Thanks.

Gosh, I wish I could help. I suggest going to TMO at Nellis and asking them what they will cover.

I do know when you get out, they will move you to your home of record or an equivalent amount of miles and anything further than that is out of pocket. I think even if it is a dity move.

But yeah I think contacting TMO will get you the most accurate answers.

    Good luck

I don't know anything about what the military will cover, but DH was just pricing moving trucks and for us to move ourselves with a 24' truck I think it was, Penske was cheaper than UHaul or Budget.

    this is NOT TRUE!!

irregardless of whether it is a laast ETS move or last retirement move you are entitled to a GOV procured move-or allowed to do a FULL PPM!!!

you will also be entitles to PEr diem, MALT and tle!!!!

if youe are ETSING the only difference is where they will move you- for ETSING they HAVE to move you to the HOR or to the Equal Distance of the HOR!!!!

if you want the regs or need to know where they are let me know-

I am wrong on occasion but I promise you I am not wrong in this case!
