My hubs is considering taking orders back to the sweeps... he was stationed on the smaller sweeps (MHCs) when we were in TX..

San Diego isn't all that bad.. COL is HIGH and there's no COLA. but other than that once you get your bearings it's not a horrible place to be.

Are you guys going to be moving into housing? If so I think NTC or Gateway would be the way to go, since they're so close to where he'd be stationed.

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

We live in Point Loma and love it. Unfortunately the housing in Point Loma (NTC and Gateway), which is wonderful housing, do not allow pets.

Ok, dh is E5, we have 2 cats and the baby. I'm getting confused by the housing website because it is so hard to read and bounce back and forth. lol

DH will be with a MCM crew in Point Loma, we have a home in National City(in the good part). He is going to do the drive for a couple of months and see how it goes. I heard the rent in Point Loma is god awful expensive. BAH barely covers rent.
I just refuse to live in base housing again, after the torment I went through in Hawaii.
Plus my rent is only 1370/month for 2/3 bed 1 1/2 bath. Not bad and my landlord allows pets. Try this website www.ahrn.com they give you an estimate on what your BAH will be here in California, and you can look for homes that are not in base housing.
    when you get here.
Control is an illusion, you infantile egomaniac. Nobody knows what's gonna happen next: not on a freeway, not in an airplane, not inside our own bodies and certainly not on a racetrack with 40 other infantile egomaniacs.- Days of Thunder(Nicole Kidman)
