    moving overseas with a baby?

    Advertisements
so if this is in the wrong place, than sorry & someone can move it.

but my hubby will be re-enlisting next june. i know, still a little bit away but with the baby comming we've been thinking about what we want to do. we had wanted to try to re-enlist for somewhere overseas next but now i'm not so sure. when he re-enlists next year the baby will almost be a yr old. we all know that most times you have to wait to pcs to a new place, our friends that re-enlisted back in oct arent getting over to england till this sept, almost a yr after the re-enlistment, but even if it was that long after my hubby's re-enlistment, the baby would be almost 2 or around there, so thats why i'm debating trying to get somewhere overseas. with the long plane rides & everything & traveling with a baby, i wanted some advice. maybe from those of you who have gone overseas when your kids were babies,or those who opted to not go overseas till your kids were older, or just advice in general. any input would be great. especially someone who has gone through it!!

We have tons of friends with babies overseas... It's not that big a deal to fly them as long as your not doing it monthly or anything.

I think its do-able for sure. The question for me would be more of my family not being as involved due to our location. But then again how often do they see you now that you are in the states. Its a decision that you and your DH need to sit down and really think about for all involved. Ultimately though I think you would be fine if you do end up overseas ... tons have done it.
Sorry I have no personal experiences to add. Hope you get some more insight.

thanks so much for everything ladies!!!! & yes hubby & i will be talking a lot about this up until he re-enlists. of course our family back home is a part of it, but the only time we go home is like @ christmas, if we see them any other time, it's b/c they've come up to visit. so yes being overseas would be hard, but something that we've all talked about before & prepared to possibly happen. but again thanks so much for the input! hopefully for those of you who have flown with your kids that say they were so good & slept, i so hope that mine will do the same, lol. as both me & The hubby like to say with the combination of both of us, we're in trouble, lmao.
