Screwy Got a welcome packet and email to Minot AFB

    Advertisements
Sooooooooooo. DH is in tech school. He was told he would be getting his orders within the next couple weeks or so.

Today I check our email, and I see a welcome email from Minot AFB housing.

We had 3 options of bases, and Minot is one of them. It was our last choice.

Even though he hasnt received his orders yet, does this mean that we are going there?

Im lost. He cant call til about 10 tonight, and Im going to crazy until then wondering if he somehow got his assignment today.

Has anyone else received a welcome to housing email/packet BEFORE they got actual orders that they were going there? Are we really going there?

I don't know, as we haven't recieved any orders yet, but I would love to know the answer to for future reference!

I have a friend in Minot, it isn't so bad after you get used to it.

The RIP for his orders may have come down... I wonder if he signed it, not realizing what it was? I agree with CC, I had a friend in Minot too... she said the same thing.

    Good luck!

Our first base my husband didn't even list on his dream sheet. They send you where they need you. So it's possible that's where you're going.

Very possible that's where you're going... I heard Minot itself isn't so bad, certain career fields it sucks more to be stationed there though. Get a battery warmer and be prepared for the cold.

Kiwijus is at Minot. Sounds like your DH has the same job as hers if you only had 3 duty station options. I know Minot is short handed so I'm guessing that's why you got it. You should PM Kiwi, she'll help you out.
