    Jaw Drop!

So we are going to need to move some of my mom's things with us when we go back to WA.

I just looked up how much it is to rent a Uhaul. $1500 for the smallest one. That's before tax. Holy schmolley.

I have NO idea they were that expensive.

That's cause you're moving out of state. What's the security deposit? They wanted $1200 when I moved from TX to UT. My husband ended up booking moving van through Ryder cause it was cheaper than Uhaul

My dad told me that Uhaul is the most expensive, so you may want to shop around a bit. Also, look into alternatives... right now all my stuff is on a trailer on its way to CO.. it's a company called ABF U-Pack - they have things similar to PODS, but also you can rent space in a trailer. They drop it off to you, you load it, they pick it up & move it to where you're going. It was the cheapest alternative for me to move from NY to CO.
    Oh, hey. I'm back!

Try Penske. We have found them to be much cheaper, plus you don't pay mileage.
    Needs work.

I'll second the recommendation to try Penske.

    O my goodness thats insane!
I checked threw uhaul and budget we used budget and paid 580 for 2 days!
We moved from Tn to Ga so your travel may be longer i dunno!
The truck we got was a 17" i think!!

O and in Tn while checking on this budget honored military discount while uhaual did not!

I hope you can get a cheaper way and good luck with the move!

I'll third the recommendation for Penske. We used them to move from LA to CA, had a week rental (biggest truck that they had and our stuff still didn't all fit ) plus unlimited mileage and did not pay what you're being quoted for a uhaul. Go as cheap as possible, trust me.. the amount of money we poured into gas was UNBELIEVABLE. We filled up like every less than 200 miles at around $150 a pop. It was not a pretty situation. So, definitely go cheap for the rental part.

Try Penske. We paid $800 for a 16ft truck and car dolly from New Orleans to San Diego. Also, that is one of our reasons for taking housing here. The navy will move our stuff from here if we do. If not, they will only ship our stuff from San Diego and I really dont want to pay for a truck again.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!

I don' actually NEED to move my mom's things, but I want them. Her kitchen table, her china, my aunts bed, dresser, two night stands, a tv, and MAYBE 2 dishpacks worth of stuff is all I have to move and $1500 seemed INSANE!

I can always count on you guys who have done it before for the answers I need!
