    DLA paid in advance??

    Advertisements
Is there any way to get it paid in advance in our situation:

DH is at BMT, graduates in 2.5 weeks. We're moving to CA for his tech school (DLI, 15 months).

He should be able to request an advance of it.

DLA is often paid in advance. He just has to go to PSD and request it. Assuming he's eligible for DLA he shouldn't have any trouble getting it advanced.

Can you get 100%? DH has only been allowed to ever get 80% based on them not knowing exactly what he is entitled to until the move is completely done.

DLA is different from everythign else. It is a set amount that you get no matter what your expenses are so you can always get 100% up front.

I am not sure what BMT is. But if that is your finance or personel office I would say yes.

Nope- that's advanced travel. You can get more than just the DLA advanced, but DLA is always available at 100% advance. The other things they may give a lower amount because, as you say, they don't know what you used, and therefore what you're eligible for.
