    Help Viewing Billets

    Advertisements
Isn't there somewhere online where you can look at billets that are available? If so, does anyone have a link? TIA!

I could be wrong, but I think only your DH can do it from work, there used to be a site(for the navy, I think) but it was taken down like 2 years ago. But your Dh should be able to look as long as he is in his window for getting orders or talk to his detailer.

Unless you have a CAC card reader at home, then no, there's no where accessible by home computer.

He can look at work and print off the stuff to let you see what's available. G's always just called and said ok, this is what there is, what do you think?

Good luck.. we're up for orders late summer/early fall this year.

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot

Thanks guys. He said he couldn't pull them up at work today, so I was going to try to look at them here. He's filed paperwork for a shore duty extension and he's trying to find a set of orders for here. Apparently there's nothing, so we're hoping something will come up so we can do the extension so he'll have a better chance of getting a job when he gets out, since we all know the economy's in the crapper right now. His detailer won't go up a rank for him with the billets, so he's interested to see if there actually are some open because I'm pretty sure you can fill a billet for one up and one down. He wants to know if there is something open, but she just won't let him have it.

Yes, if the detailer would work with you, you can take a billet up or down from your current rate. G did it when we were in Groton and trying to get orders back to TX.. He took an E4 set of orders as an E5, he also used his Guard2000 to secure the orders. Has your husband used his yet?

It's something designed for the sailor to use to basically guarantee that you get a location you want. NC@Sea could probably break it down better than I can, but that's the basic gist of it.. they get 1 to use during 1st enlistment and another to use before they hit a certain point in their career I believe.. G only got to use the 2nd one because he never knew about the first one and lost it.

He used it in conjunction with his re-enlistment, since he reenlisted while we were negotiating orders.

    Good luck.

It depends on the post. Some have it posted online and some don't.
