Montgomery GI Bill

I've got a question. My fiance told me that the Montgomery GI Bill is for service people getting higher education. He also told me that spouses can use it as well. Is this true? Would I be able to use it for graduate work?

Spouses can not use it. It has been discussed and nothing has come of it as far as I know.
Yes the GI Bill is for the active duty member to go to college

Oh i dunno my husband just said that spouses can use it but there are mucho stipulations on it, like you have to maintain a certain grade...But i dunno, he could be wrong.

I believe it's only surviving spouses(widows) right now. They were talking about spouses being able to use it, but I doubt that will come to pass for a very long while.

You can always contact VA to ask them about it, because I have heard about 5 different stories on that. best bet is to get mucho info about it before you make plans to use it

When I was calling different colleges last month I was told that as of last year spouses could use it

Yes but you have to maintain a certain GPA

its only certain jobs that are able to use it at this point. it's still being "tested".

Nope spouses cannot use it, belive me I've called VA and asked. Doesnt matter what GPA you have or where you go, unless you are the actual service member who earned the GI bill you will not be able to use it. I'm a pro at this GI Bill crap by this point, lol, dh has been using his for over a year now at two different schools, and there is so much red tape its sickening.
