    Fort Hood, TX.

    Hey ladies,
    We just got orders to fort hood, tx we go there... well i don't know bout opsec but we go there REAL SOON.
    I was wondering if there is anyone over there??
    Any advice on relocating, what steps to take..
    what's it like over there?
    Anything and everything!

    its not too bad here! make sure you use the map they give you!!! its huge! and housing is less than desirable in some areas of the post, but its housing. if you live off post stay away from 2nd-10th street i think it is. its the "ghetto". ummmmm hmmmm. not much to do around here

    we just moved from there. It's okay. On post is fairly nice. I didn't really like Killeen at all. We lived in Copperas Cove, it's about a 20 minute drive from fort hood. It's nice but a little overpopulated. PM me if you have any questions!

    not much of anything we got packed and moved down. stayed in a hotel until we got housing on post and they brought our stuff. the holiday inn express gives a pretty good military discount!

    its about 2 1/2-3 hours from dallas, 1-1 1/2 from austin, 3 from houston, 4 or 5 from galveston

    killeen and harker heights are the closest cities. There's alot of bars and a few clubs.

    Now if you want to drive a ways you can get to Austin in about an hour or hour and a half depending on where you're at.

    oh ok ok.. well we don't have to call or anything? put our name on waiting lists? ANYTHING?? lol!!

    (we been in korea for the last 2 years, our first and ONLY duty station so we're a lil blindsided bout how the states relocation works kwim)
