DH and I have a plasma tv and DH says there's going to be a problem moving it. He said they won't pay if it gets broken. Is he right?

I think they might pay a certain % but not the full price, I can't remmeber. When we PCS the movers scratched my bed (its wooden) and I tried to get them to pay for it cause it was pretty bad but it was such a hassle I decided to forget it. We might PCS next year and Im also iffy about the TVs...cause plasma is not cheap lol

He is right. You could have it professionally packed by someone else though. We were goinng to look into whether our renters insurance would cover it in transit.
    Needs work.

From what I was told when we moved last month (even though it was only a local move), you have to have the origional box or a crate and padding for it if you want them to move it, otherwise you have to move it yourself.

When we moved. We were asked if we have one. I answered no, but asked why it made a difference. I was told that if we no longer have the box, the moving company needs to make a crate for it. I was under the impressiong that it's covered just like everything else now. I know when they first came out, they werent. Call the moving office and see what they say. It could be different between branches as well.

it will be covered but only up to 1500 dollars and yes if you do not have the original packing materiels and box they will need to come out and build a crate for it.

When we got out last year, they moved ours and kept it in storage for six months. It still works great. You just have to make sure they pack it right and make sure it stays upright. My renters said they would cover it if anything happened to it while in storage. You def need to let the movers know that it is a plasma though.
Smile as if you don't have a care in the world,
    Love with your whole heart,
And laugh as if it is going out of style.
