    What is a housing bill?

If you live in housing, the BAH is taken directly from the check.

If you live off-base, you get BAH in your paycheck.

    yea whats housing bill?
Well DH and I moved into our house after we were married. We got a house on base but I think the only reason we got ours so quick is because there's so many different areas there and so many houses and theyre building new housing...plus we live in the houses no one wants But i'm not sure how it is there..maybe have him go talk to the housing office and ask them how long they think you guys will be on the list

BAH took one paycheck to start coming in after we got married.

Your DF has to stay ON TOP of them. I've known couples that took months and months for their BAH to start coming in.

I've heard you can get back pay for the check's they missed, but I never bothered with it. It was one check and we've had terrible luck with the navy financially, it just doesn't seem worth arguing for hours to get such a little sum, kwim?

We got married, then started living together 3 months later, but that was because DH had another school to go through before we got stationed.

My friend moved with her husband about a month after they were married and their BAH started coming in.

    Hope this helps!

ETA: I'm assuming by "housing bill" you mean BAH..

Once you get married it may take one pay period or sometimes 2 to get into the system. The it should automatically be in his pay if you are going to live out in town.

Lol. I just called it a "housing bill" because that is what DF was saying. He was probably trying to put it into simple terms for me or something. Now I just look like an ass, thanks DF. Lol.

But thanks for the input everyone.
    It did help me out!!

Your talking about BAH ( it goes up when you get married)

I would look at the housing on base b4 you decide to move...I would not live on base myself.....

It only took one paycheck b4 the BAH went up for us...

Good luck and go on base and look around!
