    How likely is it

    Advertisements
that after basic training, my boyfriend would get on his number one base? I'm just curious. He's in the Air Force if that helps.

My thoughts are that based on his ranking, he would get on a base that's lower on his list instead of his number 1 base.

My DH got his number 5 choice. It really just depends on where his job is needed. He may not even get a base on his list at all.

It just depends. It could be his #1 choice or it could be on the bottom of his list. It could also be neither. There has to be a slot available in his career field. Good Luck and I hope he gets his #1.

    Where's his number 1?

If it's Minot, ND, he'll get it. Nobody REQUESTS Minot.

    If he's asking for Hawaii...

Ok sorry, I had to pick myself up from laughing so hard.

It all depends on how many people are begging to go to his #1, how much "promise" he shows, how many people they even NEED or have room for at his base of choice, etc etc.

Besides, out of Basic Training he doesn't have a choice. He goes on to Tech School. THEN he goes to his perma-base.

I thought the same thing, although mine included a few other bases (Dyess, Barksdale etc) Thanks for making me chuckle!

We got Yokota as our first duty station and it wasn't even on his list.

When we PCS'd from Yokota, we put Fort Hood as the last slot on the list...guess where we are.
