    Soldier Systems Center?????

    Advertisements
Has anyone's SO been stationed here? It's in Natick, Massachussetts. If not, have you heard anything about it?
I don't even know if they send active duty soldiers there at all.
DH is thinking of re-upping while he's in Iraq, but one of the stipulations will be that he gets re-stationed to a post closer to home (Maine). Natick (SSC) was the closest Army Post i could find, next would be you know, Ft. Drum, and all the one in MD.

Any input would be appreciated! thanks

what is your husbands MOS? when the army considers giving a PCS for reenlistment bonus they take into account what the soldiers MOS is. Not every MOS is at every base.

He's a 92F, but has been thinking about trying to change his MOS. He really doesnt get any fulfillment out of his job and wants to be a firefighter, a mental health specialist, or do human resources. (i know, weird selection of jobs). I wonder if he can say "i want to re-up, i also want to switch my MOS to be more fulfilling and to bring me closer to my hometown" and if they would accomodate that?? lol who knows.

it would just be SO awesome if we could be closer to family. He kinda wants to just be done with the military when his enlistment is up. he doesnt like being so far away from his brothers, sisters, friends etc. I kind of agree, i dont like our kids not being with their aunts/uncles/grandparents etc. But I also want him to stay in because by the time his enlistment is over he'll have 7 years under his belt, why stop now? KWIM? job security, benefits, plus everything else that comes along with it (yes, deployments and all...not a fav, but still part of it lol)

    !

do you know what kinds of MOS's the soldiers there have? probably not a whole heck of alot, it IS the navy yard right?

I should see if he can be stationed in Kittery, that would be AWESOME because we could just stay living in our hometown (15 - 20 mins away from kittery...yayyyy!)

good point! glad you put that idea in my head.
